Physical Therapy Assistant
Stacey Ernst is originally from Denver, Colorado and completed her PTA education at St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, Texas. She became interested in physical therapy after a personal injury to her right hand. During her recovery, she had PT three times a week for three months to regain full mobility. Her therapist was awesome and analytical—it was a painful process, but she made it fun. That experience inspired Stacey to pursue a career in physical therapy.
She is certified in Rock Tape and Functional Dry Needling (FDN) for the upper body. Her approach to patient care is to get the body moving in a pain-free range of motion to disassociate pain with movement, then gradually work into strength and stability.
Her favorite part of being a PTA is the people. She enjoys meeting a wide variety of individuals who, she says, are wonderful and make her job easy.
Outside of the clinic, Stacey enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, working in the yard, traveling, hiking, bike riding, and playing pickleball. As a military spouse, she has moved to San Antonio four times. She was raised in Colorado and goes back as often as she can.
